UW-Madison Branch members have the opportunity to learn about the Agricultural Engineering industry through tours offered by the organization. Over the past year, tours involving power and machinery systems, food and bioprocessing, and natural resources were offered to students by ASABE.
1. Johnsonville, Plymouth Foam, Kohler
On November 18th 2016, students toured Johnsonville, Plymouth Foam, and Kohler all located in eastern Wisconsin. At Johnsonville students were giving a tour of the very large plant and were given a meal while watching a presentation of new Johnsonville food product. At Plymouth Foam students were given a presentation with the owner of this small company and then given a tour of the factory where everything is made. At Kohler students were given a tour of the impressive, high-tech factory that produces Kohler engines.
2. Milwaukee Brewers game.
On Friday, April 21st, students traveled to Milwaukee to for a Milwaukee Brewers game against the St. Louis Cardinals. Students were involved in some tailgating games and festivities before entering the game. The club cheered hard for the Brewers, but unfortunately the lost 3-6. Students had a great time while bonding with other members.
